Chemical industry
The provision of protection against corrosion is a prime requirement in the chemical
industry. The group of materials that go under the heading of rubber coatings has proved
itself in this sector over many decades and today has still lost nothing in terms of its
standing. This holds good equally for both hard and soft rubber coatings. A rubber coating
is a good selection for corrosion protection in particular in plants in which processing
is carried out with acids, alkalis, salt solutions etc.
A wide variety of different items including tanks, pressure vessels, baths, evaporators,
pipes, stirrers, fan, centrifuges, filter cells, electrolyte cells and electrolyte tanks
are effectively protected against corrosion by rubber coatings. Here the material to which
the rubber coating is applied can be of metal (carbon steel or stainless steel) or of
concrete.
