Transport
Rubber lining for greater safety for transportation by
rail and road or on water
For the transportation of hazardous substances by rail and road or on water, high demands
are placed on the safety provided by the transport container. This holds good in
particular for the transportation of corrosive media.
To this extent corrosion protection represents the soul of your transport container. Only
corrosion protection of the proper form can provide security vis à vis aggressive media.
Accordingly the selection of the optimum lining material and the quality of the processing
are of decisive importance.
For many years now the enterprises in the rubber lining industry have been successfully
protecting tank cars, road tank cars and ship's cargo tanks against corrosion with rubber
lining.
The materials used were developed to provide corrosion protection against particularly
high chemical loadings and in particular against changing loadings as can frequently occur
with transport containers.
In particular the soft rubber lining employed are insensitive to vibration and impacts as
well as to deformation of the component in question. Cracks as can occur in particular
with hard rubber linings do not arise with this form of rubber lining.
Thanks to the favourable behaviour of the material under low temperature conditions, parts
that have been lining with soft rubber can be transported, stored and mounted at
temperatures as low as minus 40 °C.
